Pie Crust VI Recipe

Ingredients

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups white sugar

2 egg whites

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon pure vegetable oil

Directions

In a saucepan combine water, salt, sugar and egg whites. cook over high heat until mixture is thick and creamy. Remove from heat and stir in the vegetable oil. Let mixture cool.

Shape dough into a ball and place it onto waxed paper. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. When liquid is removed from paper, let mixture cool. Crumble into 1-inch balls; keep covered.

Fill hollowed bread balls with egg/water mixture; sprinkle with baking powder and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Cool before slicing.

This is amazing. I served it to my dairy-loving friends and they said that they preferred it to regular whipped cream because of its delightful coconut taste (though that probably wouldn't go with everything...) Recommendation: use coconut cream, use dry vermilion, and use 2 teaspoons baking powder. It is absolutely delicious.
