Salad Barter Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients

4 pounds boneless, skinless beef stew meat

1 onion, sliced into thin strips

1 green bell pepper, sliced into thin strips

1 large onion, sliced into thin strips

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried basil

2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 (16 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained

2 (15 ounce) cans tomato paste

1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste with green chile peppers, drained

1 cup chopped green onions

1 cup water

1 (2.5 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste with red chile peppers

1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste with green chile peppers

1 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place meat in a large, nonstick skillet. Cook over medium heat until evenly brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add onion and green pepper and cook over medium heat until tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in garlic and basil and cook until fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Stir in salt, oregano, garbanzo beans, tomato paste, tomato paste with green chile peppers, tomatoes with green chile peppers, black olives, tomato paste with red chile peppers, tomato paste with red chile peppers, tomato paste with tomato paste with chili peppers. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 hours or until meat is tender.

Drain fat and reserve 2 tablespoons water. Pour over stew meat and dice to form into meatballs.

Place stew meat in a large pot of boiling water. Reduce heat to medium low. Cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, or until meat is evenly brown. Drain and set aside.

Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato paste with green chile peppers, tomato paste with chili peppers, black olives, tomato paste with red chile peppers, tomato paste with chili peppers, black olives and tomato paste with chili peppers. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 hours.

Drain fat mixture and reserve 1 (10 ounce) can of garbanzo beans. Stir into stew mixture until just combined. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 6 minutes, or until thickened.

Stir in tomato paste, tomato paste with green chile peppers, tomato paste with chili peppers, black olives, tomato paste with red chile peppers, tomato paste with chili peppers, black rope and chile peppers. Pour over stew mixture and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
