1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch loaf pans.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugar and salt. Beat in baking powder and milk. Beat in the butter. Combine the eggs, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and flour; stir into 2/3 of the mixture. Stir in the flour mixture just until incorporated, then gently stir into the cream mixture. Fold in the whipped cream, banana and vanilla. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar mix evenly over the bottom of the prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven until an internal temperature of 180 degrees F (80 degrees C) is reached, about 1 hour.
Remove loaf from oven and brush top and sides of loaf with egg yolk syrup. Remove loaf from oven and slide loaf horizontally onto a serving platter. Brush with sugar syrup while still in oven so that the juices run clear. Repeat with remaining loaf, banana and vanilla.
