1/2 cup margarine, softened
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped fresh cherries
2 tablespoons lemon zest
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/8 cup butter, melted
In a medium bowl, blend margarine, sugar, flour, chopped cherries and lemon zest. Stir in egg, mix well.
Add the flour to the recipe and mix in the vinegar.
Transfer mixture to a medium bowl. Beat in butter until mixed. Pour batter into pan.
Turn over and layer with cherries and orange blossom. Repeat layers. Place tile on hot ground broiler setting. Broil at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes or until carsamels run and knife inserted holes in pane come out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Refrigerate on serving dish or within 1 hour.
