Devils Food Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18 ounce) package devil's food cake mix

1 (18 ounce) package devil's food frosting

1/2 cup milk

2 eggs per egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (1 ounce) square unsweetened baking chocolate

1 (4 ounce) package vanilla wafers, finely chopped

1 cup flaked coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round pans.

In a large bowl, combine Devil's Food Face, Devil's Food Barrels and Devil's Food Frosting. Mix well and spoon into prepared pan. Sprinkle with milk, eggs and vanilla. Spread over devil's food cake. Place on a baking sheet.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. Cool cake in pan for 1 hour or until chocolate turns darker. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and stir in cake mix. Remove from heat and immediately pour over Devil's Food Cake while still wet. Stir and let cool completely before cutting into squares, or if you plan to use them as part of an Easter decoration. They are great as Easter morning gifts!
