1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup butter
1 large egg
6 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 cup vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup white sugar (optional)
In a medium-sized saucepan or metal bowl, combine margarine, butter, egg, green onions, 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, 1 cup vanilla extract, milk, marshmallow creme, pumpkin pie spice, cornstarch, 1/4 cup sugar and optional nutmeg. Heat over medium heat. Remove from heat.
Beat and spread cream cheese mixture into half of the cake pan. Frost top with orange icing and repeat with remaining cake layers. Frost edges of cake. Chill in refrigerator about 1 hour.
