2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 red bell pepper
1 lime, thinly sliced
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whites, divided
1 cup milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 large, open patties
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Dredpe a few cloves of garlic, and saute onion in pan until tender. Stir in flour, 1 cup at a time, until browned. Saute variety with bell pepper, until all liquid is absorbed. Continue to stir, without allowing patties to stick, until all liquid is absorbed.
Transfer mixture to a medium bowl, and pour in 1 cup at a time, milk, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, and 2 tablespoons liquid. Dip patties into milk, until browned and drain on paper towels.
