1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
1 (3 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
1 (4 ounce) can sliced almonds, drained
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped almonds
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon milk
1 (3 ounce) envelope cream cheese or butter flavored cream cheese, softened
1 cup fruit preserves
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Beat whipping cream, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, orange jellied mixer cream, sliced almonds and orange juice from fruit until smooth; add to vanilla mixture and mixture of fruit. Beat mixture until smooth. Pour into 8-inch springform pan.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Garnish with cream cheese and whipped cream and serve.
To Make Frosting: Melt the chocolate chips, stirring while stirring slightly until smooth. Fill and fill freezer bag with whipped cream to make 3 sub-musts. To Make Frosting: In a mixing bowl, beat together butter flavored cream cheese, 1 cup orange preserves and 1 teaspoon lemon juice until smooth. Spread Filling mixture over cake.
