3/4 cup packed French vanilla wafers
3/4 cup butter, chilled
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan or baking sheet. In a medium bowl, cream together the white sugar and egg until light and fluffy. Slowly stir in the milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and vanilla. Beat in the flour, 1/2 cup at a time, then stir in the vanilla and crumb mixture. Finally, pour into prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, until a cookie with a puff of space around the center comes out clean. Allow to cool by wire rack. Meanwhile, line bottom of a pan with a layer of preheated milk.
