1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in egg and vanilla.
When dough has pulled together, turn out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 1/2 inch slices.
