Crystalline Fudge Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup water

4 egg whites

1/2 cup water

10 egg whites

1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cups powdered sugar for decoration

Directions

Beat the gelatin in a medium bowl until liquid is covered. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form, then fold in the sugar and water. Add the gelatin mixture, two tablespoons at a time, and stir well to combine. Fold in the egg yolks, one tablespoon at a time, then the vanilla.

Divide the mixture into five portions, then spread each part evenly into the prepared baking dish. Form into a loaf, and refrigerate.

To make the Frosting: In a medium saucepan, combine powdered sugar and 1 cup of cold water. Heat until the mixture thickens. Gradually stir in the egg whites, then the half-and-half cream, then the vanilla pudding mix. When cold, gradually stir in the Fudge. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
