1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1 (8 ounce) package nonfat chocolate covered pecan halves
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening, sugar, and flour until light and fluffy. Stir in the baking powder, salt and water. Stir in the shortening mixture, one level deep. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 7 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges are light. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 3 minutes before removing from the baking sheet to cool completely on wire racks.
