1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup unsalted chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg and flour. Stir in the baking soda, salt and pecans.
Sift together the sifted dry ingredients and stir into the batter. Drop cookies by rounded teaspoons onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on wire racks. Lower the temperature to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and bake an additional 30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares or triangles.
