1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. Stir in the salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 9 minutes in the preheated oven, or until completely cool. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
