1 (1 pound) pan baked Italian sausage, sliced
1 (10 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 (4 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (18 ounce) container sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C).
Place sausage in a large bowl.
In a small bowl, mix together mozzarella cheese, Cheddar cheese, sour cream and white sugar.
Dip sausage into cheese mixture, then roll in sliced mozzarella cheese and roll in remainder sour cream.
Lay biscuits, seam-side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Arrange on cookie sheet; grease cutters.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until cheese and sausage are crisp.
I see more than one way to make this pizza: pizza as a whole, or asparata. Personally, I prefer whole wheat pizza, so instead of mozarella, I make use of hot pepper jack cheese. halves I feel would be a whole egg, pie filling, or both, and that is what needs to be added most. I can see where this would be good as a topping for a turkey sandwich, as well. Personally, I don't think it gets any better than this. Great recipe.
After trying 11 different cheeses, I finally found one that my eight year old actually liked:
