1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the brown sugar and corn syrup. Beat in egg and stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Mix in the salt, almond extract and 1/8 teaspoon baking soda. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cookie comes out clean. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
