1 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
2 tablespoons molasses
1 large red onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 cups sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon lemon juice
In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, vinegar, white vinegar, molasses and sweetened condensed milk. Stirring constantly, bring mixture to a slow boil, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat.
Place remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan, and boil over medium heat until lighter. Stir gently into caramel sauce. Remove from heat. Stirred lemon juice into the mixture. Pour into glass jar.
