One Bowl Italian Appetizer Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups chopped onion

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried sage

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried thyme

2 teaspoons dried rosemary

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried marjoram

2 tablespoons water

3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup sliced almonds

1 small apple, cored and sliced

Directions

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

In a small bowl, mix the onion, garlic powder, oregano and sage, basil, thyme and rosemary. Mix gently for a few minutes. Add water and oil, and cook together for about 1 minute, until oil is in place.

Stir flour into the onion mixture. Mix with olive oil mixture. Mix with salt and almonds. Shape the batter into a rectangle.

Fry bread rectangle on each side until golden brown. Flatten with a fork and pat dry on paper. Fry bread edges for extra crispness.
