1 medium egg white
1 cup milk
1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/8 teaspoon dried currants
In a large bowl, beat egg white until thickened. Beat in milk and milk powder; mix well. Gradually pour milk mixture into egg white. Stir eggs and milk mixture into the flour mixture, beating until blended.
Stir butter, vanilla, sugar, salt, basil, allspice, and pepper into the egg white mixture. Pour mixture into a greased 9x5-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup milk mixture over the top of the baking dish. Cover with foil.
Bake in preheated 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) oven for 1 hour. There may be a browning effect, but keep an eye on it.
