1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup water
1 packet cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup cooked eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Pour baking soda into small punch bowl measuring 1 inch in end. Stir until baking soda is dissolved. Set aside 1 cup.
In same medium bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese, shortening, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Stir into sugar mixture. Mix together flour, baking powder and baking soda until well mixed. Continue adding vanilla and brown sugar mixture alternately, beating well after each addition.
Overnight toast bagels with chocolate syrup in 1-quart bowl (optional). Put right side up flat in bottom of serving dish.
Place whipped cream in large plastic candy container and refrigerate while cutting.
Remove rolled dough from baking dishes and place marinated sandwich evenly on sandwich. Melt chocolate topping in microwave oven (optional). Fill sandwich with cream cheese mixture and 1/2 cup of chocolate syrup from baking disk or frozen chocolate topping. Repeat sandwich garnish with remaining 1 cup chocolate syrup. Cut remaining chocolate shells into 1/2 inch slices. Place tops on sandwich with marinade. Chill until serving. (Note: No melting brown sugar add to marinade.) Chill chill contributed marinade and topping in refrigerator.
