9x7 inch pan
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sliced almonds
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and egg until well blended. To the flour mixture add lemon zest and vanilla extract to blend well. Mix with fingers until well coated. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool completely on baking sheet before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
