1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup cooked white rice
1 cup coconut milk
1 teaspoon dried currants/spiced almonds
In a medium saucepan, combine milk, lemon juice, oil, onion, garlic, basil, nutmeg, salt, paprika, rice, water, coconut milk and almonds. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add currants/sour cream, if desired. Cover and simmer 5 minutes more.
