5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup white sugar
1 cup carrot juice
1 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, carrot juice, butter, eggs, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in baking soda, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
To make the frosting, combine sugar, flour and cinnamon: beat until smooth. Spread over cooled cake while still warm.
