Zesty Southern Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup Cheddar cheese, diced

Directions

Stir 1 tablespoon white sugar into 1 tablespoon vinegar. Bring to a boil, stirring.

Gently whisk in 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium heat. Pour over cabbage. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 15 minutes. Corn stuffing should be room temperature.

Crumble cooked cabbage into a large bowl. Mix salt and brown sugar; gently fold into salad dressing. Cover and refrigerate. to serve.

I added Splenda and Splenda + Orange juice.(didn't have orange zest), this was so good and easy but I did change the pecans to start. I believe I would prefer just smashing the bars with a hammer. I also added lemon juice and/or Water. I would have given this 5 stars but I had to doctor it. Some people said it was too sweet so they added more water. Others said it was too cloying so they added more honey. Still others said it was just right. I've had this recipe as a treat and passed it on to my son this morning.
