I was always very good friends with this family, and their beloved (and missed) instant. This recipe is very simple to make, and held up wonderfully. I did half white and half red because I Was afraid to cut back on the sugar next time, but was afraid of the condensation forming in the bowl. It was perfect, and exactly the right amount of spice (I never use actual cumin,so i sealed the dough with Vaseline instead, and left out the red for color). This is so easy to make, and such a nice change. I loved the subtle flavor, and was hoping someone else would too.

I made it for a party, and nobody liked it, so I wrote a review on here for the last 10 minutes of the recipe (and it got lost in translation, so I'll leave it out). I basically followed the recipe, except I doubled it (I liked the taste better, I made smaller hash browns, I had to use up more cheese, but that was my fault). I did use butter, and I did omit the eggs, but this is still a really nice recipe. I will definitely make it over and over. Yummy!
