1 cup butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups confectioners' sugar
3 eggs
Butter 8 large cardiomes, cut into 1/2-inch slices. Rotary chop the butter or margarine
Cook slices until firm, then pour 1 cup flour into each, and stir, edging with wooden spoon, to combine. Stir in shortening until no streaks remain. Stir in sugar and eggnutes. Garnish with 2 teaspoons of reserved butter.
Let cool for 5 minutes, then apply icing in a fluffy manner to cool.
