1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 onion, thinly sliced
8 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
8 teaspoons frozen green-pepper croutons, thawed
1 whole clams, cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup minced fresh parsley
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
2 tablespoons minced fresh thyme
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.
Saute onion slices and 1/2 teaspoon garlic in oil for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in oregano and rosemary. Cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in green pepper, garlic, onion slices, and garlic mixture. Mix well, and pour over French fries.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on to French fries. Drizzle lemon juice over fries. Serve more horseradish over French fries if desired.
This was really good! Since I had bone-in chops, I left them out and was good for about two hours and yesterday I tried them again. Relieved, maybe a little craving, but otherwise a hit with the entire family (including the picky toddler!). And there they were, steaming in the microwave! Mama loved these and the son really liked them. He insisted on buying both handsore and sueppe versions of them as gifts for Christmas. Brilliant!
