1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean beef roast
2 onions, chopped
2 tablespoons monosodium glutamate
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
to taste salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown beef, onion, and green onions; drain should be clear. In a large bowl combine soy sauce, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Divide beef mixture into two portions. Roll the thickest part into a circle about 1/2 inch thick. Place meat circle on a medium baking sheet. Pour hot water into the bottom of the circle.
Rub bottom with salt and pepper to coat, but leave a thin layer of meat. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Arrange thick slices of meat in bottom of foil lined 13x9 inch casserole dish. Cover with 1/2 inch strips of red onion, 1/8 inch strips of celery, and 2 strips of celery. Sprinkle with green pepper, tomato, olives, soy sauce, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste. Bake in 10 minute increments, or until meat is tender. Remove foil, and cook on low for 2 minutes. Remove meat. Serve warm.
