1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pitted dates
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon raisins
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon grass tea
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 2 quart pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, light brown sugar, white sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, lemon grass tea, dates, nuts and raisins. Mix together.
Place the mixture in the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
I baked this sweet bread with pecans and white...and it was fabulous! It's rich, smooth, and has just right amount of sweetness. Perfect topping for a well cooked steak or poultry. Love this recipe
