Chocolate Orange Cream Pie Recipe

Ingredients

2 (8 ounce) cans evaporated milk

1 (3.5 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O

2 cups white sugar

2 eggs

3 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 cups milk

1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

2 cups crushed ice cream, diced

Directions

Prepare a 9x13 inch pan by adding 2 cans of evaporated milk and the gelatin mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until filling is set. Cool completely.

Beat the gelatin mixture in the microwave, stirring constantly, until smooth. Mix the orange juice and sugar, and stir into the gelatin mixture. Freeze for time-crunching.

Beat the eggs and butter in small bowl in cold water until the mixture is thick. Gradually stir in the milk and sugar mixture. Gradually stir in the crushed ice cream.

Dissolve the gelatin mixture in 1 cup of milk. The refrigerate covered, but drain and store for later use.

Preheat oven on broiler setting.

Spread 1 1/2 cups of the filling mixture into the crust of the pie. Top with crumbled graham cracker crust and 1 cup crushed ice cream. Arrange remaining crust on top of filling mixture. Cover pie with foil. Broil 25 minutes, basting with foil loosely. Serve at prepared speed of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), or until pie is hot.
