1 (20 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough
1/4 cup bourbon
1 pound salami or Italian sausage
2 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut dough into 1 inch slices. Place seam side down in a 2 quart or smaller ovenproof casserole dish or dish pan. In a medium bowl, dissolve bourbon in water and squeeze lemon zest into drinking glass. Mix together sugar and vinegar.
Spread biscuits on pie, then on the sides of casserole. Sprinkle salami over biscuits and sprinkle with sugar. Cut sausage between two slices of foil. Press sausage into bottom of pie; then in meat hole.
Place biscuits in a greased and paper lined baking dish or dish. Pour bourbon over biscuits, sealing edges from top to bottom. Garnish with top slices of salami, followed by parsley or bacon.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, about 30 minutes more. Cool partway through the baking process to room temperature. Top with jelly bean glaze and fruit preserves. Repeat with remaining food items.
