Orange Cream Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O

2 cups boiling water

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cups boiling water

4 cups sifted all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 egg, beaten

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese

1 (6 ounce) can fruit flavored Jell-O mix

2 cups white sugar

1 1/2 cups margarine, melted

1/2 cup orange juice

2 cups milk

1 (8 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained

Directions

In a medium bowl, place gelatin in boiling water. Remove from heat; stir in vegetable oil, water and flour. Combine in small bowl, stirring until well blended. Mix in baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly.

Place 1 cup of boiling water in a large bowl. Mix gelatin mixture with lemon juice and pour mixture into mold. Chill in refrigerator overnight.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Mix in fruit flavored gelatin mixture, sugar, margarine, orange juice and milk. Beat until smooth. Pour batter into mold.

Bake in the preheated oven for 70 to 80 minutes until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean.
