3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Scatter the brown sugar mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan. Place butter on top of brown sugar mixture, and sprinkle with sugar and eggs.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour. Cool before serving. Recipe Notes:
To make the chocolate sauce: In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the sugar has melted. Remove from heat and whisk in the margarine and eggs. Stir in the vanilla extract, vanilla extract, salt and nutmeg. Pour syrup over brown sugar mixture and refrigerate until set.
