1 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon butter or margarine
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon apple preserves
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine bread flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and nutmeg. Mix well and continue to stir until smooth. Remove pan from heat and let cool.
In a large bowl, cream together white sugar, butter or margarine, egg and vanilla. Beat well. Beat in milk, vinegar, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice. Stir in apple preserves. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and allow to cool completely. Serve warm.
