1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
To Make Batter: In a large bowl, cream together the butter or margarine, brown sugar, egg, vanilla and baking soda until smooth. Beat in the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix in cinnamon, cloves, salt, and pecans. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cookie comes out clean. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
