Henry VIII Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

2 eggs

1 cup vegetable oil

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup white sugar

3/4 cup cider vinegar

1/2 pound leftover cornbread

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon egg white

2 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10x15 inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, beat eggs, vegetable oil, baking powder and salt together. Mix in the flour, sugar, vinegar and flour mixture. Stir in the cornbread mixture. Beat in the milk, vinegar and flour mixture. Stir in the vanilla extract and lemon juice. Drop batter into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool loaf completely. Mix remaining ingredients. Serve warm.
