1 cup applesauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon lemon zest
6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
6 tablespoons butter
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon lemon zest
Combine applesauce, brown sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice; stir until well blended. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Stir butter into white sugar and lemon zest. Spread cream cheese into center of the creamed center. Cream together lemon zest and butter in a small bowl. Chill mixture in refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
