1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
In a small bowl, beat the white sugar until fluffy. Stir in the brown sugar and light brown sugar. Combine the baking soda and salt, mix lightly. Add the melted butter and beat until well blended. Transfer this mix to the prepared pan.
Layer the white sugar mixture, brown sugar and melted butter over the beef filling in a large pan. Pour the melted butter onto the beginning, then cake the rest of the way around. Cover the bottom of the pan tightly with foil. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
I decided to make this as a sloppy joe recipe. I didn't have time for all the math involved so I just used this recipe that listed the ingredients and it added them as needed. It ended up tasting really bad though. It was super-salty and cloying. But it was very good and easy. Thank you for sharing.
Good and easy. The hardest part is getting all the ingredients together
