1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch pan.
Beat butter and flour in medium bowl, until well blended. Stir in baking soda to return to state of wetness.
Add lemon juice, milk, sugar, salt, egg and vanilla. Mix together, then pour into greased 8x8 inch pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Serve immediately.
I didn't let it rise too long because I didn't have any dried dill weed on hand, but it came out perfect. Delicious!
