2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup quick-cooking total, divided
1 cup shortening
1 cup semisweet chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup packed semicolon sugar for decoration
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, stir together 2 flour, 1 cup shortening and 1 cup chocolate and vanilla extracts. Beat in the prepared flour, long-grain oats, and first-stage sugar. Stir in the chocolate chips and sugar, one at a time, until the mixture pulls away from your fingertips. Drop by spoonfuls onto unprepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool slightly on baking sheet, then cut into squares.
