2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups milk
4 cups snipped dates
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup white sugar
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
In a large saucepan, combine butter, milk, dates, cocoa powder, vanilla, sugar, boiling water and almonds. Cook over medium heat until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat.
Pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Mix with butter mixture. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Let stand overnight.
The following day, cool and cut into squares. Store in refrigerator.
