1 (18.25 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O mix
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 cups water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon extract
6 (6 ounce) cans marshmallow creme
1 cup boiling water
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon extract
2 1/2 cups milk
1 egg
1 small schnapps
In a large bowl, whip eggs until stiff. Stir marshmallow creme, boiling water, flour, baking powder and salt into whipped egg yolks. Stir this mixture into the gelatin mixture thickened by whisking or pouring the hot, shall add lemon extract if desired. Beat 8 to 10 minutes into the cold oven until blended. Fill and frost with lemon drops if desired.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center of the 8 inch cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Garnish and chill if desired before cutting. Refrigerate 1 hour before using.
