Easy Italian-Style Bread Recipe

Ingredients

4 teaspoons active dry yeast

3 tablespoons white sugar

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 eggs

1 cup warm milk

3 tablespoons white sugar

Directions

Place the yeast and sugar in a small bowl. Cover and let stand overnight.

With a large spoon, mix 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 eggs, milk and 3 tablespoons white sugar. Place the mixture in the pan of the bread machine. Select the Start or Normal cycle.

When the cycle starts, allow it to stand overnight. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

While the dough is in the pan of the bread machine, stir the egg mixture into the brown sugar mixture. Mix well, until blended. Place the dough into the pan of the bread machine.

Remove the mixture from the brown sugar mixture and turn out onto a rough surface. Divide the mixture into two and roll out to a length of about 6 sheets. Place 4 sheets onto two large baking sheets. Place 2 sheets of dough over each dark sheet. Flatten the edges of both sheets. Brush remaining bread with olive oil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 36 to 42 minutes, or until the top is slightly golden brown. Cool on a wire rack and cool completely.
