3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch pan.
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large, heavy metal bowl or saucepan. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix together and set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix raisins and nuts. Mix together the raisins and nuts. Stir the raisins and nuts into the flour mixture until well blended. Pour the dough into the prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven until light golden brown, about 40 minutes. Cool in pan on flat surface for 15 minutes.
