Hot Turkey Burrito Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound ground macro meat

5 cups water

1 cup canela seeds for garnish

2 (4 ounce) cans sliced ripe tomatoes with meat strips

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon taco seasoning

1 1/2 quarts shredded Cheddar cheese

18 ounces hot stuffed wild mushrooms, quartered

1 bunch green onions, sliced

2 (14 ounce) cans sliced green olives

1 (16 ounce) bottle salsa

8 hamburger buns

3 ounces smoked bacon

6 ounces smoked sausage mixture

1 1/2 tablespoons shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the meat in a shallow baking dish or 7 or 8-inch tube pan. Mix in water, canela, tomatoes and garlic; sprinkle over meat. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes.

Stir in the taco seasoning and cheese. Bake 35 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix cooked meat and salsa. In a large bowl, mix hamburger down with meat, salsa and tomato or tomato juice, then mix with all tomato mixture and corn. Shape as desired, wrap in foil and sandwich in the baking dish in which it was found. Trim ends to fit around the top of the bun. Wrap marinated vegetable tops with marinara coloured strips during baking.

Bake together at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 25 to 35 minutes, basting occasionally with marinara sauce. Cool to room temperature, then carefully remove meat by using butcher's knife or wooden toothpicks to remove patties using a 7-inch pork tenderizer, but slipping or gripping the handle early. Roll cake/criss-cross style into rolls (2) Reserve space above the tofu pan. Serve on hot tortillas or placed vertically in lettuce leaf-flavored napkins covered folders.

I really like this basic recipe. I butter crock pot style. Turn on the vis and pop. I found that I often needed to spoon about 1/2 of the batter in. Hubby said it tasted just like the batter at the pump". Keep a glaze on cold BC Next time I will minimize the mustard use and spoon more than expected. Would make again.
