1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup melted butter
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup chopped pecans
3 eggs
1 egg yolk, separated
1 tablespoon coconut extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup Irish whiskey
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, light brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Melt butter in a large skillet, stirring occasionally. Gradually pour over pecans, mixing gently. Cool slightly. Stir in pecans. Pour reserved 1/2 cup butter into the pecan mixture. Mix well.
Stir in pecans, eggs, egg yolk and coconut extract. Mix well. Spread mixture evenly into a 9x13 inch pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown. Cool completely. Spread pecan layer over pecan crust.
