3 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 cup water
2 pounds stale bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 sprinkling of salt
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups cooked ham
Heat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Combine sugar, water and bread crumbs in a small bowl. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of water, baking powder and salt and mix; mix until all ingredients are well incorporated. Add potatoes, stir.
Pour potato mixture into low-temperature oven; sprinkle salt over mixture. Bake 60 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan. Spread cheese on ham.
