This is a great way to use those hard little pears you can't eat! Cut in half the cooking time and it turned out perfect!

I had to add an additional 240 ml (5 cups) of water to make this recipe work, and that was a good thing because the flavor of the chickpeas was extremely delicious. The recipe got interesting fast, so I stopped halfway through cooking, and added a tsp. of garlic powder and 1/4 of a diced red pepper. The combination of flavors was amazing. I ended up adding 1/2 - 1 tsp. of salt and 1 tbsp. of fresh parsley, just because I had some extra. The recipe was still too liquidy for my taste, so I added a final cup of water (and a splash of lemon juice) to make this liquidy. This was still delicious, and I cooked extra potatoes to use up the extra vegetables. I will try this recipe again with a larger quantity of peas, because I found it takes a lot longer to cook this recipe.
