1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups rolled oats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Stir margarine, milk, margarine and vanilla in medium bowl until well blended. Stir flour, baking powder and salt into butter mixture until well blended. Fold the rolled oats into margarine mixture. Spread mixture on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove cookie sheet and allow to cool completely on wire rack. Roast about 40 minutes in the preheated oven until lightly browned.
