1/2 cup butter, softened
5 eggs
1 pound fresh peaches, pitted and sliced
1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
2 (9 inch) prepared frosting frosting
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) cavity-sized baking pans.
Place butter and eggs in medium saucepan with heavy flame; cook over medium heat until mixture thickens. Beat in sugar, peaches and vanilla pudding mix.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Cool completely, and refrigerate to chill.
In a large bowl, beat butter/egg mixture with electric mixer until fluffy and creamy. Mix in pudding mix and sugar. Stir in peaches and vanilla. Beat in remaining 2 1/2 cups peaches. Pour mixture into crust. Garnish with reserved frosting.
